You need to make sure Windows is not using the 2i2 for any audio other than PT. Go to Control Panel-Sound and under the Playback and Recording tabs make sure the default is the in built audio. Any entries that appear for the 2i2 disable. If you want to hear computer audio such as YouTube etc, use computer speakers plugged into the onboard
In order to force your Scarlett 2i2 out of MSD mode without first registering it, connect it to your host computer and press and hold the 48V button for five seconds.
